History Happens | Pandemic 2020

You sometimes hear people say,
That being with their partner turned them into a better person.
You hear it, and you don't quite believe it,
Unless love happens to you.

You hear about mysteries, supernaturals and ghosts,
You hear about miracles and believers boasts,
You hear it, and you don't quite believe it,
Unless divine happens to you.

You hear about people fighting over an ideology, a faith or belief,
That they are willing to die for someone else's grief.
You hear it, and you don't quite believe it,
Unless revolution happens to you.

You hear about power & honour and sacrifices in the name of both,
Building them into blocks on the graph of growth.
You hear it, and you don't quite believe it,
Unless politics happens to you.

You hear about epidemics killing masses,
It striking despite the hierarchy of classes.
You hear it, and you don't quite believe it,
Unless a pandemic happens to you.

You hear about history,
And you hear about history repeating itself.
You hear it, and then you stop hearing, stop believing,
Unless history happens to you.
